The Stalk Chair
Enoch Hui | 2021.06.07
Half of our planet was covered in vegetation ten thousand years ago but nowadays only two-thirds remains. If this rate of consumption / destruction continues soon none would remain but a single stalk* ; would one still feel comfortable, knowing that what he is resting on is the last that has remained?
The chair is form with resin components assembled via Mortise and Tenon joint, referencing our traditional carpentry and the need to preserve our natural resources.
* 孤根 is the Chinese name for The Stalk Chair, which literally means single stalk
